Gura Construction was contracted for a facelift project at an existing Eclipse Car Wash in Edwardsville, IL. Our design team created a 3D rendered model of the proposed transformation, allowing the customer to visualize the completed project before any work began. The primary goal was to give the building a more modern and updated appearance, specifically to align its look with the client’s other successful Eclipse Car Wash location in Godfrey, Illinois, which Gura Construction also had the pleasure of completing. This ensures a consistent brand identity for their customers.

For the main building, we utilized high-quality alucobond Spectra Ocean ACM in a 4mm thickness, chosen for its aesthetic appeal and fire-resistant properties. Both the main wall and the tower feature a draining back ventilated rain screen attachment system. This advanced attachment method provides crucial ventilation and moisture management behind the panels, contributing to the building’s overall durability and preventing potential issues.

One of the significant challenges encountered during this project was the condition of the existing CMU block wall, which featured a split-face texture. To address this, our experienced team engineered and installed a custom hat channel system, providing a level substrate for a smooth ACM panel assembly.

In addition to the main wall facelift, Gura Construction also addressed an aesthetic challenge at the rear of the property. The customer had a significant amount of conduits running power and equipment for the car wash that were visually unappealing. To provide a more aesthetically pleasing solution, we designed and assembled a tower enclosure.

For this tower, we utilized alucobond Dusty Charcoal ACM in a 4mm fire-rated thickness, also installed with the draining back ventilated rain screen system. We also installed a framing system to support the ACM panels, creating a cohesive and modern look. Crucially, the design included a dedicated access point, allowing for easy maintenance of the conduits and addressing any future wiring issues without compromising the appearance.

The consistent use of the rain screen system, along with the choice of fire-resistant ACM materials, showcases Gura Construction’s commitment to quality, safety, and best practices in wall cladding installations.

The transformation of the main building with the vibrant Spectra Ocean ACM, coupled with the concealed conduit tower featuring the sleek Dusty Charcoal ACM, has given the Eclipse Car Wash a completely refreshed and cohesive appearance, successfully mirroring the aesthetic of their Godfrey counterpart.

We are very pleased to report that the client is extremely satisfied with the overall outcome of the wall facelift and the functional and visually appealing tower we assembled.
