Gura Construction was selected to provide a robust and high-performing roofing system for the expansive industrial building of MoWear Motorsports / Dwight McMinn in Patton, Missouri. For this project, we installed a durable 2-inch mechanical lock panel system utilizing 24-gauge Galvalume from McElroy Metal across the large structure.
One of the most significant challenges of this project was the sheer length of the panels. Each panel measured nearly 60 feet, with some extending to an impressive 90 feet in length. The logistics of safely lifting and maneuvering such long panels onto the roof required meticulous planning and coordination by our experienced team.
Despite the considerable difficulty in handling these oversized panels, Gura Construction successfully completed the entire installation in a timely manner and, most importantly, with an unwavering commitment to safety. Our team’s expertise in working with large-scale commercial projects and specialized panel systems allowed us to overcome this logistical hurdle without incident.
Dwight McMinn, the owner of MoWear Motorsports, chose the 2-inch mechanical lock standing seam system that Gura Construction recommended specifically because the fasteners are concealed under the panels. This eliminates the common failure points associated with exposed fasteners that are prevalent in many industrial and commercial roofing projects, ensuring a longer-lasting and more reliable roof for his facility. Additionally, to protect vehicles and equipment around the perimeter of the building from potential snow and ice sliding off, we installed an S5 snow guard system.
The 2-inch mechanical lock panel system provides a secure and weather-tight seal, crucial for protecting the interior of a large industrial facility like MoWear Motorsports. The Galvalume material offers excellent corrosion resistance, and the 24-gauge thickness provides exceptional durability and longevity, ensuring a reliable roofing solution for years to come.
